Road Tripping | Early Spring

One morning before we left for Saskatoon I saw my lonely tulip was blooming.

On the drive:

Landscape remains brown and seemingly lifeless.

Trees are late to bud, only faint tinges of green are peaking through.

Skies were dark and heavy with the promise of much-needed rain.

There are signs of life and so much lies beneath the surface or is hidden in the trees.

Life will soon burst forth from every inch of that black earth.

Geese stood in pairs, at the side of the highway casually glancing at us as we drove by. They were focused on their search for tender green shoots of grass.

Deer were plentiful, roaming the ditches.

In a month from now, everything will look completely different. That is one of the reasons I love Saskatchewan. There is always something new to see on a road trip.
