Norma Galambos
Author

I started Norma Galambos Lifestyle in 2018, encompassing my work as a freelance writer, blogger, children's book author, podcast host, crafter and business owner.

A selection of my Saskatchewan history stories has been published in various Canadian magazines, including More of Our Canada, Saskatchewan Folklore, and Prairies North. These stories and others in my collection received a Heritage Saskatchewan Award in 2023.

I released two children's books in 2024: A Home for Bonnie with Lilac Arch Press and One More Story for Ava. I have also signed a contract for another book.

My husband, Brian and I live in Leask, Saskatchewan. We have a daughter, a son, and five grandchildren.

When adults or children recount an adventure, I often say, "I feel a story coming on." Their imaginations and experiences inspire me to write.

A Home for Bonnie

Bonnie is a lost dog searching a campground for a forever home. Campers wake to her whiskers tickling their neck, her cold nose on their back, and Bonnie's furry body snuggled beside them. They help Bonnie, but can't give her a home because they already have pets, are allergic, or dogs aren't allowed where they live. Bonnie thinks she will never find her longed-for home until one boy's kindness changes everything.

One More Story
for Ava

Ava loves her grandma’s stories, but she can never get enough. Just one more might be enough, and Grandma tries her best to tell her granddaughter another.

An amusing story for young children, this book will be requested time and again, just like Ava requests one more story from Grandma.

At Ahelia Publishing, we cherish the warmth of generational tales and are committed to bringing delightful stories to young readers that spark imagination and joy.

AUTHOR VISITS

I am available to visit your school or public library to read both my books and discuss the writing process. I also have puppet friends that travel with me. Please contact me regarding availability.

Several smaller groups are preferable in a school setting, as I like to make sessions (approximately 45 minutes) relatable to the age group I'm speaking with.

Visits are suitable for Kindergarten to grade five students, where I share:

·       who I am

·       the background of the stories

·       the process of writing and publishing for children

·       readings of both books

·       the magazines my Saskatchewan history stories appear in

·       an opportunity for students to share their thoughts and ask questions

·       show the students my puppet collection
