I am inquisitive and reflective by nature, and when I changed my employment status from full-time to casual, I knew the path forward would become clear if I were open to change.
I had no plans to start a business, podcast, lifestyle and food blogs, or publish stories in magazines and write books. I read an article about blogging, started writing and haven’t stopped.
One thing led to another, and I opened a gift shop, selling handmade products online, at trade shows, and at local businesses.
Having my own blog allows me the freedom to write about whatever piques my interest: historical stories, articles about world events and collective human experiences.
My Saskatchewan history short story collection received a 2023 Heritage Saskatchewan Award. Many of these stories are published in Canadian magazines and my first children’s book will be released in 2024.
I find doing a variety of activities challenges me. I don’t get bored, if I am frustrated working on one project I can set it aside and do something different.
My husband and I are farm-raised, small-town Saskatchewan people. We have a daughter, son and five grandchildren. I enjoy reading, listening to true crime podcasts, spending time in my yard, boating and fishing.
Believe in yourself and keep reaching for what fulfills you.
